Inspired by artwork based on fractals and my love for interesting, layered stitch combinations, this shawl’s shape reminds me of the new fronds of ferns as they open from a coiled position.

Make yourself a glamorous, year-round accessory (in a warm but breathable yarn) that not only draws attention to your impressive crafting skills wherever you wear it, but is also a “just one more row, oh well maybe another…” project. The contrast bands in the body are a great motivator as you work across the length, and the border includes such a delightful range of fun techniques that you can’t get bored. You are definitely going to want to reach that last curlicue and see it develop as you add the stitches!

The wind spinner style tassels are as practical as they are decorative, allowing the shawl to be tied in multiple ways.

Sizes: one size but directions are provided to adjust number of repeats.

Gauge: 14 stitches and 8 rows = 10 cm in US dc/UK tr
